IN CONNECTION WITH THE CELEBRATION OF HUNGARIAN SCIENCE, A CONFERENCE ON SOCIETY AND SCIENCE FOR A LIVABLE FUTURE WAS HELD ON WEDNESDAY AT THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS OF GFU IN BÉKÉSCSABA

On the occasion of the Hungarian Science Day, Gál Ferenc University discussed the issues of a liveable future in the context of the Christian vision of the future.

On Wednesday, at the opening of the conference entitled “Society and Science for a Livable Future”, Rector Dr. Gábor Kozma emphasized that knowledge is the source of human potential. The university’s vocation is to serve society and the future through its ecclesiastical mission.

He added that the institution considers the order of the created world to be authoritative, and that a viable future is one in which communities are organised according to values and in which human freedom is fulfilled. This freedom is an activity that benefits others, not a series of self-fulfilling pursuits for individual interests.

Dr. Gábor Kozma stressed that the main virtue of a liveable future is respect for creation, respect for other communities and people, love, and helping them into a world of values. In this context, the lectures at the Faculty of Economics discussed, among other things, the context of faith and science, fair trade, and recent phenomena in the economy.
