SCIENTIFIC STUDENT CONFERENCE AT THE FACULTY OF PEDAGOGY, GÁL FERENC UNIVERSITY

On 23 May, the spring meeting of the Scientific Students’ Conference was held at the Faculty of Pedagogy of Gál Ferenc University, together with the traditional Spring Concert.

As part of the afternoon programme, the choir of the Szarvasi Primary School and Nursery School of the GFE “Voices of the Heart” performed first, followed by the choir of the Faculty of Pedagogy, and the concert was closed by a joint performance of the two choirs. Zsolt Aradi played the piano, and Krisztina Balláné Tóth was the choir leader. We would like to thank the two choirs and their teachers for the melodies that delighted both heart and soul.

Following the concert, the Faculty’s teacher candidates presented their research in two sessions on healthy living, play-leisure, digital culture and pedagogy. The student presentations also provided an insight into the work of the Faculty’s talent workshops.

In the first session, Bence Dudás, student teacher, won first place for his paper on the possibility of an innovative grading system (topic: Dr. Erzsébet Lestyán, Associate Professor). Second place was awarded to Csilla Dobi, student of teaching: Talent management, development in schools, identification of disadvantaged and re-silient pupils, talent management (supervisor: Dr. Erzsébet Lestyán, associate professor). The third place was awarded to Petra Katalin Rácz, student of teaching. The role and use of the Internet and social networking sites in pedagogy, their impact on children – The role of the World Wide Web in the lives of students (supervisor. Ágota Balogh, associate professor), and Éva Eliza Mészáros, student of kindergarten teacher education: The integration and inclusion of children with special needs in kindergarten (topic leader: Dr. Erzsébet Lestyán, associate professor).

Judit Baki-Nadu, student of kindergarten teacher: The possibilities of using the Bee-bot floor robot in kindergarten activities (supervisor: Ignác Bontovics, assistant professor). Second place was awarded to Andrea Gyurcsik, student of kindergarten teacher: Opportunities for leisure activities of preschool children (supervisor: Dr. Sarolta Fest, Prof. Emerita). Third place went to Bianka Virág, student of teaching, for her thesis on the health behaviour of primary school students (supervisor: Júlia Kovács-Vida, assistant professor). The special prize was awarded to Andrea Réka Gulyás, student teacher: The role of ball games in school physical education (supervisor: Júlia Kovács-Vida, assistant professor).
