Ambassador of Hungary in Riga, Latvia, balloon drop and paella – Erasmus+ information day with surprises

The Faculty of Economics organised its traditional Erasmus+ information day on 10 October, joining the #ErasmusDays 2023 European programme series.

Dr. Zoltán Árpási dean closed his friendly welcome speech with an important announcement: the University Club will be refurbished and an Erasmus+ Club will be set up in the upstairs room. The interior design of the room will be the subject of a competition for students.

Monika Csefkó, institutional and faculty Erasmus+ coordinator shared information on the Erasmus+ application process and presented the renewed Erasmus+ website of the university.

Afterwards, motivational presentations were given by former Erasmus+ scholarship holders Brúnó Durkó and Tamás Lezsák, and Zoltán Lupták, President of the Hungarian-Finnish Friendship Society in Békéscsaba.

After the coffee break, the Ambassador of Hungary in Riga, Mr. György Urkuti  surprised the participants with a live online welcome speech (a big round of applause to Linda Lipták for the organisation).  Then some videos of Latvian and Spanish partner institutions were shown to the students, followed by a quiz on the information shared during the programme.

The qr codes of the quiz were hidden in the balloons of a balloon drop – another surprise for the students. Results of the quiz:

1st place: ÉSZven TOUR team (Edit Sándor, Krisztina Rondic, Sára Janecskó, Imre Tóth)

2nd place: the 3 Erasmuskétás (Alexander Racskó, Laura Schultz, Levente Szilágyi)

3rd place: GazdaságiSOKK (Nóra Polonyi, Krisztina Csík, Gabriella Károlyi)

Congratulations to the winning teams, each team member won a suitcase to take home and prepare for their next Erasmus adventure.

The programme ended with lunch, where the participants tasted a Spanish national dish, paella.
