International workshop took place organized by GFU in Szeged in the topic of early child education

International workshop on Early Development organised by Gál Ferenc University in Szeged Gál Ferenc University is a participant of the ERASMUS KA2 Strategic Partnership Programme launched in May 2023 in cooperation with a Finnish and a Portuguese institution. The GFU is implementing the project in collaboration with the Palánta Nursery in Szeged, led by Marietta Szendrényi. The project is entitled Sustainable Development in Early Childhood Education. The issues of nursery and pre-school education are of utmost importance in the third decade of the 21st century. Educating young children to cooperate and protect the environment can fundamentally shape society on the continent in the decades to come. This realisation has led the three institutions to develop innovative educational tools under the ERASMUS KA2 programme. The brainchild of the project will be an interactive exhibition on early childhood education in the three countries in spring 2024. As part of the project, a workshop with staff from the three institutions was held at the GFU headquarters in Szeged from 16 to 18 October. The opening ceremony took place in the Glattfelder Hall of the main building on Dóm Square with welcoming words by the Rector, Professor Dr. László Dux. On behalf of the GFU, Dr. István Thékes and Dr. Attila Thorday, from the Palánta Nursery Department, Marietta Szendrényi welcomed the foreign guests. The 16 professionals participated in professional presentations, workshops, visits to nurseries and cultural programmes. As a result of the fruitful contacts, both the foreign and the Szeged early childhood educators gained a wealth of experience during the three-day exchange. The professional relationships and friendships developed during the event will be further strengthened at the next workshop in Lisbon in January.
