In February 2024, the College of Education of the Gál Ferenc University held two events in the framework of a series of programmes in Sarva.

On 26 February, Dr. habil József Kaposi, associate professor, held a discussion forum with a lecture. The title of his thought-provoking presentation was “Educational problem map in seven points”, which covered the following topics:

1. The crisis of the traditional school

2. Changing perceptions of knowledge and learning

3. Changing expectations in the world of work

4. differentiating expectations of students and parents

5. The traditional role of the teacher has been transformed

6. The education system in the country has been split in two

7. Inconsistent educational governance

On February 29, 2024, Dr. Zoltán Gloviczki, professor at the College of Education, held a lecture course for students entitled “The man who is man. The Tomorrow of the School”.

Comparing the past, present and future, he discussed the transfer of knowledge in schools past and present. What areas of education are needed in today’s society, in a dynamically evolving digital society and artificial intelligence. Examples include complex problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, interpersonal skills, people co-ordination, emotional intelligence, reflection and decision-making, service-centred thinking, negotiation skills, flexible thinking.

The series will continue in March with four performances.

The events have been funded by the NTP-SZAKOLL-23 grant scheme for supporting talent development programmes in the specialised colleges.
