Faculty of Economy
In 2023, the Finnish Ambassador and this year the Estonian Ambassador visited the Faculty of the Ferenc Gál University in Békéscsaba.
Raul Toomas said he wanted to see the city and the university. The ambassador gave a paper on “Estonia/Estonia”, focusing on culture.
At Thursday’s event, András Bereczki, Head of the Department of Finno-Ugric Studies at the ELTE Faculty of Humanities, gave a lecture entitled “How Estonia became successful. Among other things, he spoke to the young people about the factors that led the country to become successful both economically and politically.
András Bereczki stressed that in Estonia, Hungarians are loved and Hungarian literature is well known. In addition, cooperation and interest in the language is a common bond.
Zoltán Árpási, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, pointed out that Estonia is an innovative and digital country, which is enough for high school and university students to learn a lot during the day.
The Dean pointed out that they are working hard to rebuild their Erasmus programmes following the outbreak of the coronavirus. As a result, the number of students studying abroad for several semesters is steadily increasing. A group of first-year students have recently returned from Timisoara, where they took part in a week-long intensive programme. This weekend they will travel to Lithuania for a similar event.
