They serve the cause of Christian education, honored with the Vilmos Gelsey Award

This year, the Diocese of Szeged-Csanád and its Pedagogical Institute honored a director and a school founder with the Vilmos Gelsey Awards. The awards are given annually to individuals who have long contributed to the development of Hungarian society based on Christian values and have dedicated themselves to the cause of Christian education.

The 2025 Vilmos Gelsey Awards were presented on Wednesday afternoon at the Cathedral Visitor Center. The Diocese of Szeged-Csanád and its Vilmos Gelsey Pedagogical Institute established the award in 2014 to honor the legacy of its namesake, Vilmos Gelsey, a British economist and banker of Hungarian descent.
